A man has been arrested after police were called to reports of gunfire in a Stockport park. Armed police swooped on Alexandra Park at around 4.30pm on Saturday (May 30).
A man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and remains in police custody for questioning. Police say no one was hurt and that there is no wider threat to the community.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 16.31 today we received a report of gunshots in an area of Alexandra Park in Stockport. "We then received a second call suggesting that a male was in possession of a firearm. "Specialist officers attended and located the male.
