Dame Arlene Phillips has spoken openly about dealing with her age and the "guilt" she harboured when she was replaced on Strictly Come Dancing.
The renowned TV choreographer, who made her mark in the 1970s as the leader of the dance ensemble Hot Gossip, made headlines when she parted ways with the BBC series in 2009, as reported by the Mirror.
During a chat with The Sun's Fabulous Magazine, she reflected on ageing, mentioning her approach to physical activity: "So now, at 81, I take more care of mine - I walk more and I don't do knee slides and drops!
Still, this year was the first time I wondered: 'How many years do I have left?'." At the midpoint of life, aged 40, Phillips felt the weight of years heavily.
