Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are performing at the 2025 Oscars! After many weeks of speculation, the Wicked duo have officially been confirmed to perform at the ceremony on Sunday (March 2), although it’s not yet known which songs they’ll be doing.

Of course, there are plenty of options from the movie musical to choose from, including “Popular,” “Defying Gravity,” and “What Is This Feeling?” When rumors first swirled from Puck, it was said that the show would open with “a Wicked medley.” Keep reading to find out more… “The word is that they will kick off the show,” THR notes.

Sources close to the ceremony and both actresses have since told THR that initial report was not a done deal at that time, which is why Cynthia kept denying that it was going to happen at first. “But everyone has since been brought on board,” THR reports, noting that the movie couldn’t ask for better publicity ahead of Wicked: For Good, out later in 2025.

ABC also confirmed on Monday (February 24) that Doja Cat, LISA of Blackpink, Queen Latifah and RAYE will also participate as performers, plus an appearance by the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
