Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have recreated their viral “holding space” meme at the 2025 Golden Globes – watch the moment below.Grande and Erivo – both of whom star in Wicked and Wicked: For Good – have had their fair share of viral moments while promoting the film over the last year.

However, perhaps no moment was bigger than when Ariana Grande holding onto Erivo’s finger was turned into a meme that took over social media in the last quarter of 2024.The meme has since been dubbed “holding space”, and stems from an interview featuring Erivo and Grande, when they both appeared overwhelmed to find out that fans “are taking the lyrics of ‘Defying Gravity’ and really holding space with that, and feeling power in that.” Grande then held Erivo’s finger as a show of support – though this quickly turned into a meme on social media.While at the Golden Globes earlier today (January 6), Grande and Erivo recreated the meme when host and comedian Nikki Glaser asked Grande to hold her finger.
