‘Argo’ Editor and ‘Unstoppable’ Director William Goldenberg to Get Camerimage Honor
variety.comCarolyn Giardina Oscar-winning film editor William Goldenberg–who recently made his feature directorial debut with “Unstoppable“–will be honored with the Camerimage Award for an Editor, during the 32nd EnergaCamerimage international cinematography film festival, which will be held Nov, 16-23 in Toruń, Poland.
Goldenberg won an Academy Award for Ben Affleck’s historical thriller “Argo,” which traced the rescue of six U.S. diplomats from Iran during the 1979-81 hostage crisis.
He has also received Oscar noms for Michael Mann’s “The Insider,” Gary Ross’ “Seabiscuit,” Kathryn Bigelow’s “Zero Dark Thirty” and Morten Tyldum’s “The Imitation Game.” HIs credits also include “News of the World,” “Unbroken” and “Pleasantville.” Goldenberg’s collaboration with Affleck has also included films such as “Gone Baby Gone,” “Live By Night” and “Air.” “Unstoppable,” which was lensed by director of photography Salvatore Torino, will be screened during Camerimage.
Produced by Affleck and Matt Damon, the film is a sports drama based on wrestler Anthony Robles’ book “Unstoppable: From Underdog To Undefeated: How I Became A Champion.” It features a cast led by Jharrel Jerome as Robles and Jennifer Lopez as his mother, Judy.
