The Scottish SPCA have successfully released a ringed seal, normally found in arctic waters, back in to the wild.Scotland’s animal welfare charity flew the male seal, named Hispi, to Shetland so that he could be released as far north as possible and have the best chance of returning to his natural habitat.Hispi was accompanied by Sarah Beattie and Sian Belcher from the charity’s National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Fishcross to make sure his release on October 23 went as smoothly as possible.The Scottish SPCA had been caring for the seal at their wildlife facility since they were alerted to Hispi by the British Divers Marine Life Rescue after he was spotted at Cove Bay Harbour in Aberdeen on August 27.Initially mistaken for a common seal pup
