An army of Arbroath supporters have helped ensure today's Scottish Cup fourth round clash with Motherwell will go ahead.Around 60 Lichties fans, including children, turned up at Gayfield this morning to help remove covers which had been laid down at the start of the week to try and beat the wintry conditions throughout the week. And their efforts have paid off with the surface at Gayfield in great condition and ready to welcome the Scottish Premiership side.Championship club Arbroath posted on their Twitter page this morning: "We are very proud of the togetherness shown by everyone associated with our club."Needless to say without the 60 or so supporters who gave up their Saturday morning this process would have taken all morning but our fans are brilliant and this is what our club is about!"Lichties groundsman Peter Clarke said on social media the game is "100 per cent on" and encouraged fans to come along to Gayfield to take in the clash, as the sides battle it out for a place in the next round.Motherwell, who have been struggling in the Scottish Premiership, will travel north looking for a first win since October in all competitions.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
