Apple To Spend $500 Billion In U.S. Over Next Four Years

Amid Donald Trump-imposed tariffs, Apple has announced what it calls its largest-ever spending commitment, more than $500 billion over four years, to expand facilities, build a new factory in Texas and hire 20,000 more people Stateside for R&D.

Specifically, Apple said, teams and facilities will expand in Michigan, Texas, California, Arizona, Nevada, Iowa, Oregon, North Carolina and Washington.

The new 250k square-foot manufacturing facility in Houston, to open in 2026, will produce servers that support the company’s AI — Apple Intelligence — and, it said, create thousands of jobs.

Apple will double its U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund to $10 billion, create an academy in Michigan to train the next generation of U.S.
