Police in Aberdeen have urged motorists who may have captured a near-fatal collision at the city's bypass on their dashcams to get in touch as they launch a probe into the incident.
As the Record reported earlier today an 18-year-old man was struck by a van at around 1.55am on the A90 southbound, close to its junction with the A944 towards Alford.
The driver of the white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van was unharmed in the collision. Paramedics took the teenager from the scene of the accident - on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route that bypasses the Granite City - to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Police say he suffered "life-threatening injuries" in the crash.Parts of the road remain closed between Kingswells North and Kingswells South while officers carry out enquiries.
