Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has named Manchester United legend David Beckham as his role model. Griezmann has been linked with a move to United during various stages of his career, but he has always stopped short of joining the Old Trafford club.
He currently plays for Atletico after returning to the Civitas Metropolitan Stadium from Barcelona in July 2023. And now the World Cup winner has spoken of his admiration for Beckham.
He wears No.7 on his shirt for club and country because of the former England captain, and he has revealed he had to make a special request for long-sleeved shirts at Real Sociedad in order to copy his icon. "I really liked his style. "At Real Sociedad I remember that they didn't make long-sleeved shirts and I had to ask the kit man, who was Michelo at the time.
He made every effort to get me shirts with long sleeves." It is not the first time Griezmann has spoken of admiration for Beckham.
