Gender-critical activists have reported a trans mum to the NSPCC over a picture showing her breastfeeding her baby.Trades Union officer, Mika Minio-Paluello, shared the image on Twitter on Sunday, July 2 and was targeted by trolls. The tweet has been viewed over 39 million times and thousands of comments have been left, with many raising safeguarding concerns for the child's welfare.

Mika appeared on TV last week speaking about the cost of living crisis and the impact of soaring water bills. She was subsequently targeted for 'anti-trans' abuse online and in a lengthy thread on Twitter, where she shared the image, Mika appealed for 'solidarity' and asked people to focus on the issue she was interviewed about.Mika said: “This wave of anti-trans hate is a distraction from the actual issue I was interviewed about - we're being ripped off by privatised water companies, on top of profit-driven inflation and falling real wages.

We need solidarity and powerful movements to build a more just society."The NSPCC confirmed they have investigated the matter but concluded that there was 'no safeguarding risk to this child.' A user on Twitter shared a response they had received from the children's charity after raising concern. It stated: "You have done the right thing in reaching out if you have concerns for a child and we always encourage anyone who is worried to contact us. "Based on the information that you have provided we do not believe there is a safeguarding risk to this child. "The choice as to how parents feed their child is their own.

Health care professionals and the NHS offer support to all parents on feeding their babies and have processes in place to deal with safeguarding concerns, in the event they may identify any risks
