Anthony Mackie is speaking out to clarify comments that he made about Captain America during his European press tour.

The 46-year-old Brave New World actor made controversial comments while on stage in Rome on Monday. He was later seen at a press conference alongside co-star Danny Ramirez on Tuesday (January 28) in Madrid, Spain.

At the event in Rome, Anthony said, “To me Captain America represents a lot of different things and I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations… It’s about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity and integrity.
