I'm A Celeb is coming to a close tonight in an emotional final episode - but despite weeks of being dunked in gunge, bombarded with spiders and scorpions and practically starved, hosts and Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly proved they could still spring a surprise.

One contestant admitted they "didn't expect it" while another was visibly moved upon a major revelation. Nail-biting scenes aired at the start of Sunday's finale showed Ant and Dec entering the I'm A Celeb camp to reveal who was going next.

They dropped the clanger that Oti Mabuse, Strictly’s sweetheart and fan favourite for the crown, was departing, falling just short of the final trio.

After heartfelt farewells the three who had made the cut – Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, and Reverend Richard Coles – grappled with the reality of their finalist status.
