Nestlé has announced further sad news for fans, as another nostalgic chocolate bar is set to be discontinued.Just yesterday, it was revealed that the Caramac bar had been pulled due to "low sales".
Now, the confectionary giant has confirmed that the popular children's favourite, the Animal Bar, will also be discontinued.
Sales of both have 'steadily declined' in recent years leading the confectionary giant to axe the popular bar. As reported by the Mirror, a spokesperson said: "I can confirm that Animal Bar is also being delisted due to the low performance of the product and a steady decline in its sales over the past few years."First manufactured in 1959, the Animal Bar was was originally sold by Mackintosh's under a different name until the chocolate bar was rebranded in 1963.
Each bar contains a game inside the wrapper and featured two different animals moulded into the chocolate.As the chocolate has been a popular staple since the 60s, fans have understandably taken to Facebook to voice their devastation at the loss of yet another iconic treat.
