Angry parents take son, 9, out of primary school over sex assault claims which they say were 'swept under the carpet'

The parents of a boy of nine removed their child from a primary school over the way staff handled allegations he was subjected to inappropriate behaviour including sexual assaults by another pupil during lessons.

They say their 'quite shy' child was subjected to a series of upsetting incidents at the hands of another boy at a primary school in Greater Manchester since September, 2022, including being groped and touched by the other boy.

Correspondence seen by the M.E.N. shows the couple alerted teachers to a number of incidents but it is alleged staff failed to act and incidents continued.

The school has apologised to the parents for failing to alert them about one incident but the rest of their complaint has been rejected.
