Angelina Jolie Attends Biden's Signing of Violence Against Women Act at the White House

Angelina Jolie is observing a significant political moment in person. The 46-year-old actress and humanitarian was in attendance as President Joe Biden entered into the East Room of the White House on Wednesday (March 16) in Washington, D.C. Click inside to read more… The event was for the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which Biden helped write the original piece of the legislation in 1994 when he was a senator on Capitol Hill.

The signing authorizes all current VAWA grant programs until 2027. Angelina has been a vocal supporter of the legislation, and spoke at a news conference urging lawmakers to renew the VAWA last month, via The Hill. “Standing here at the center of our nation’s power, I can think only of everyone who has been made to feel powerless by their abusers by a system that failed to protect them,” she said at the time.
