In 1998, Lansbury recalled growing up in England before immigrating to New York when she was just 15 during the London Blitz during a sit-down with the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.Eager to follow in her mother’s footsteps, she scored a scholarship to the American Theatre Wing.
