Premier League big boys Tottenham Hotspur have been plunged into crisis after their billionaire owner Joe Lewis was left facing charges of insider trading.The bombshell dropped Stateside and alleges, between 2013 to 2021, the 86-year-old shared company information to friends, partners as well as his personal employees.
US attorney Damian Williams of Southern District of New York delivered a statement which caused ructions on both sides of the Atlantic.
Lewis faces a 19-count indictment which includes 16 counts of securities fraud plus three counts of conspiracy. Williams said: "My office has indicted Joe Lewis, the British billionaire, for orchestrating a brazen insider trading scheme.
