A deal looked to be done to take the midfielder to Parkhead from Major League Soccer side Charlotte FC, but the Australian international pulled the plug at the last minute to seal a move to Middlesbrough.
The Celtic boss has confirmed that there were talks with McGree but those have now broken down and the 23-year-old will not be signing.
And the Greek-Aussie insisted he will not be scouring the Earth for more January signings as things stand as he hit out at agents for trying to drum up interest in their players.Postecoglou said: "We kind of had a clear idea about what we wanted to do in January and that was mainly focused around targets that I had identified early on, obviously the three lads we've got in."We had some interest in others but to be fair a lot of it's quite crazy to be honest.
