Footballer Andy Robertson has surprised the children of hero firefighter Barry Martin with a trip to Lapland to see Santa.The Liverpool player was so touched by the courage and dignity shown by nine-year-old twins Daniel and Oliver he wanted to give them a special treat.Barry, 38, who died of the injuries he suffered battling the Jenners’ blaze in January this year, was honoured with a posthumous bravery award at last night’s glittering ceremony.After the boys and their mum picked up the award on Barry’s behalf, host Des Clarke surprised the family with news of Andy’s once-in-a-lifetime trip.The Scotland captain, who has been changing the lives of thousands of young people through his AR26 charity, said he was “honoured he could do something special for a family who had been through so much.”Moved by the kind gesture Shelley, 38, who courageously retraced Barry’s last steps inside the old Jenners building so she could give her children the answers to any questions she might ask about the tragedy, said: “I’m in shock.
