Andre Onana is concerned he could lose his place as Manchester United number one if he represents Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Onana, 27, endured a calamitous night in United's 3-3 draw Champions League draw with Galatasaray, where he was culpable for all three goals.
The result means United are still at the foot of Group A. AFCON begins on January 16 and players are due to report for international duty at the start of the month, with the final to be played on February 11, and Onana could miss up to six United games.
United will play their FA Cup third round on the weekend of January 6 before hosting Tottenham in the Premier League a week later.
