An Enemy of the People, director Sam Gold’s Broadway revival of the Ibsen classic starring Jeremy Strong and Michael Imperioli, is off to a great start, grossing more than $1M last week and playing to stand-room-only crowds.
In its first week of seven previews, Enemy grossed $1,005,141, filling 103.16% of seating capacity at Circle in the Square.
Opening night is March 18. In all, the 25 Broadway productions grossed $23,436,461 for the week ending March 3, a slip of about 10% from the previous week.
Attendance was off only about 4%, tallying 198,730. Also in previews, The Notebook musical grossed an impressive $783,763, filling 99% of seats at the Schoenfeld for seven performances.
