It was to be his final conversation with her. His mum, who was had motor neurone disease, was in the final few hours of her life in Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.
Rob had been by her side for the previous two weeks but was not there at the end because his baby daughter, eight-month old Mabli, was herself fighting for life, Wales Online reports.
Just hours earlier, as he came to terms with his mother’s imminent death, Rob had taken Mabli to the grounds of Withybush Hospital for a walk; a brief respite from the heartbreak of saying goodbye to a loved one.
