Amy Macdonald announced as first act for Clyde 1 Live

Scots songstress Amy Macdonald has been revealed as the first performer for Clyde 1 Live.It's been six long years since the last event but Breakfast legend George Bowie announced to fans earlier this month that it's coming back for a one-off event for 2024 - bigger and better than ever before.

Taking place on Friday, May 31,it's set to be one of the biggest gigs of the year as the radio station continues its yearlong celebrations for its 50th birthday.This is The Life singer Amy said she was "very excited" to be part of the show.

She added: "I'm always happy to be part of a Clyde 1 show. I remember coming in to Clyde 1 when I was 18 with a guitar and playing to the staff and saying 'hopefully you'll play my music one day'; then coming back to do a proper gig with my band - and I feel like I've never been out of here since!"George and co-host Cassi Gillespie announced the first line-up announcement on today's Bowie@Breakfast show.They hinted that the next big name to join Amy on stage at Glasgow's OVO Hydro will be revealed next Wednesday ( February 28).
