Amy Dowden has revealed she’s “not ready” to shave her hair off after she was urged to by fans. The Strictly star has been keeping social media followers updated on her health battle since announcing earlier this year she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.After returning home from her most recent round of chemotherapy on Wednesday, the professional dancer told fans she was finding it “so hard” to deal with losing her hair as she shared a picture of a clump of her locks in her hand.

On Thursday, she issued a statement, asking followers to remember that “all journeys are personal” and “everyone is different” after receiving another message advising her to go for the chop.Amy, 33, said: “I’m personally not ready for this.

Everyone is different and how they cope or go about their journey is up to them and need to be what’s right for them.“I’ve had lots telling me just save it.

It’s only hair. I’ve already gone through body changes for life, emotions, pain and right now I want to try save what I can with the cooling cap.”She added: “Absolutely to those who brave the shave, you are strong!
