Amsterdam stabbing: Attacker knifes at least five people leaving one dead

At least five people have been stabbed and one victim has died in a horrific attack in Amsterdam. Police confirmed that one person had died at the scene in the De Pijp area of the Dutch capital.

In a post on Twitter, Amsterdam police wrote: "One of the victims died on the spot, the four other victims were taken to hospital." A suspect has been arrested and there is a large emergency service presence at the scene.

The attacks are believed to have taken place at around 11.15pm local time. Shortly afterwards it posted: "Five victims individually stabbed on or in the immediate vicinity of the Ferdinand Bolstraat.
