Singer Kellie Pickler's husband Kyle Jacobs has died by suicide at the couple's Nashville home, police in the area have confirmed.
A spokesperson for the Nashville Police Department said: "Officers and Nashville Fire Department personnel responded and located resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office." The cops revealed that Kellie had been sleeping at the time but woke up just a short time before the incident, but was unable to find her husband.The singer and her assistant then contacted emergency services after they were unable to open a locked bedroom door.
Kellie and Kyle married in 2011, and starred on the reality show I Love Kellie Pickler. Kyle also worked as a songwriter and penned hits for a number of country musicians, including Tim McGraw, Kelly Clarkson and Garth Brooks.
Just days before his death, he celebrated an album he worked on, Lee Brice's Hey World, becoming certified platinum. Celebrating the career high, he had posted about the album on Instagram, writing: "Platinum?!
