Tributes have been paid to much loved American actor Robert Logan who has died aged 82.The star - known for his role as JR Hale in 77 Sunset Strip - died on May 6 but his family waited to announce the devastating news.
He passed away of natural causes in Estero, Florida. The news of his death was originally reported by The Hollywood Reporter after Robert's son Anthony informed them.Robert played JR Hale, a hipster valet parking attendant on the detective show.
He played the popular role for 50 episodes and featured in series four and five before leaving in 1963. He succeeded Edd 'Kookie' Byrnes' as the valet parking attendant on the ABC show.After Gerald Lloyd Kookson III was promoted from parking attendant at Dino's Lodge to partner at the detective agency next door, Robert joined as hipster JR Hale as the replacement.
The iconic series starred Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Roger Smith as detectives Stu Bailey and Jeff Spencer.Along with the detective series, Robert was known for playing Skip Robinson in The Adventures of the Wilderness Family (1975), a family franchise which saw him star in three movies.
