Amazon Prime customers issued warning over ‘no longer valid’ scam email

Amazon customers have been warned to stay vigilant over a clever scam aimed at stealing personal information. In its latest scam alerts, Which?

warned that malicious actors are pretending to contact customers from Amazon and trick them into entering their banking information.

In the email, customers are told that their Amazon Prime Membership is set to renew soon. However, they are fraudulently told that their preferred payment method is invalid and must thus be updated.

Customers are then urged to click on a link that will send them to an illegitimate website where customers are urged to fill in their personal information.
