We have confirmed that Gerry Rich, who steered the Bond films going back to Goldeneye, is leaving Amazon MGM Studios. This was an amicable departure, and we understand it was a hard decision for Rich to make.
While there’s the coincidence that his exit follows Amazon MGM Studios’ full creative control of Bond from Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, the two instances are not connected.
It was Rich who spearheaded and ran the football on all theatrical motion picture campaigns for MGM releases. Rich is exploring other opportunities.
This puts two mega big feature marketing czars on the market: Rich and former Warner Bros global marketing boss Josh Goldstine.
