An amateur football captain is receiving treatment in intensive care after a sudden and 'severe' accident.Scott Taylor, who is the captain for East of Scotland League side Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale, is recovering in hospital following the incident at his home at the weekend.
The 26-year-old, from Edinburgh, is understood to be in an induced coma after undergoing a lifesaving 10-hour operation. He is now slowly coming out of his sedation and will remain in intensive care.
An online fundraiser has been set up in the wake of the accident to support the midfielder's family. It has since received more than £11,000 in donations.
Among those to donate include Scottish international footballer and ex-Rangers player, Jason Cummings. The online fundraiser reads: "He is now slowly coming out of his sedation in intensive care.
