Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker believes it was a "really bad idea" for Amad Diallo to go on loan to Rangers and play in Scottish football.Diallo, who signed on loan for the Ibrox side last January until the end of the season from Manchester United, failed to impress the Light Blues faithful during his time north of the border.
Throughout his spell in Govan, Diallo made just 13 appearances, scoring three goals in the process. After returning to Old Trafford in the summer he was sent out on loan to Sunderland in the Championship. So far this season he has netted seven times and made 23 appearances for the Black Cats.
Diallo has been praised for his performances and alongside Ross Stewart has been one of Sunderland's top performers so far this season.
The 20-year-old has been tipped to get his chance under Erik ten Hag next season when he returns to the Premier League side.Speaking to SpilXperten, Parker said he believes the move to Ibrox helped Diallo "mentally" because he was playing for a big club.
