The Eden Project has said between 200 and 220 staff will lose their jobs after the attraction lost more than £7million in revenue so far this year.
Bosses told staff the devastating impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on its finances and scale of operations were to blame, CornwallLive reports.
Eden’s domes were closed for more than three months during lockdown and visitor capacity was significantly reduced after its July 4 reopening as a result of social distancing requirements.
The Eden Project estimates that about 150 full-time equivalent jobs will be lost out of the current total of 375, a reduction of 40%, meaning around 200 to 220 people in full and part-time roles are likely to leave the organisation.
