Alma’s Not Normal, which airs on Tuesday and has been filmed exclusively in her hometown of Bolton, somehow manages to make some pretty dark issues funny - while importantly not sugar coating them.
Willan plays the main character Alma Nuthall who, after an awkward experience at the job centre where she finds out that making sandwiches is her only career option, decides to take matters into her own hands.
A star in the making (or so she believes) Alma wants more - all the while she is trying to keep her dysfunctional family together, including her heroin addict mum who has been sectioned for arson,
