Rangers icon Ally McCoist reckons "brilliant" Brendan Rodgers will be factoring in the acrimony which followed his Celtic exit before saying yes to a return.The 50-year-old left his adoring Parkhead audience floored when he hastily exited in 2019 for Leicester City.
But a reunion is in the offing with the Irishman set for a face-to-face meeting with Parkhead supremo Dermot Desmond in London.
It comes after Record Sport revealed the club's principal shareholder has contacted Rodgers directly twice over succeeding Ange Postecoglou.McCoist is under no doubt Rodgers remains a top operator, however, he believes the former Foxes boss will be asking himself if a return to Glasgow's east end is the right call after the circumstances which followed his previous exit.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the Ibrox hero said: "He'd be brilliant. I think Brendan is a great coach. The only thing I would say is there is a good section of the Celtic support who weren't happy when he left and they think the manner he left in wasn't acceptable. "I would think that would come into Brendan Rodgers' thoughts, I don't care what anybody says, it would come into Brendan's thoughts.
