It was a blockbuster final in Qatar as Lionel Messi opened the scoring from the penalty spot for Argentina, before Angel Di Maria rounded off a sweeping counter attack to get on the scoresheet to hand the South American side a 2-0 advantage going into the break.
However, Mbappe led a second half fight-back for Les Bleus as with as he netted from the penalty spot before volleying in the leveller and taking the game to extra time.
Messi found the net in extra-time and looked to have secured the World Cup with a close range goal, before it was Mbappe to the rescue again as he took the game to penalties with another equaliser from the spot.
