A man had 'pent-up anger and frustration' when he stabbed his mum's former partner to death in his flat, it is alleged. Andrew Hall, 59, today (Tuesday) went on trial accused of the murder of Geoffrey Ives in Heywood.
Mr Ives, 75, was found dead in the flat on Hardfield Road on Sunday, January 29, 2023, after a neighbour who had not seen him for several days raised the alarm.
Prosecutors allege that shortly before 10pm on Friday, January 27, Mr Hall, armed with a 'vegetable knife' and a 'trimming Stanley-style knife', went to the flat of Mr Ives and 'repeatedly stabbed him to the face and neck with force.'
