A Florida man has been sentenced to write a 25-page essay on the 2016 Pulse Nightclub massacre after he defaced a newly unveiled rainbow memorial intersection in Delray Beach, Florida. Alexander Jerich, 20, received his writing sentence on Thursday, April 21 after he purposely left a 15-foot skid mark across a memorial rainbow intersection, dedicated to those who lost their lives in the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, unveiled on June 12, 2021.  As Jerich was driving across the intersection he did a burnout, leaving the indelible skid mark.Judge Scott Suskauer, believing Jerich to be ignorant of the meaning of the memorial, ordered him to research and write about the 49 people who died at Pulse Nightclub and about the people and loved ones they left behind. He also asked for Jerich’s analysis as to why the LGBTQ community receives such hate.“I want your own brief summary of why people are so hateful and why people lash out against the gay community,” Suskauer said.According to the Palm Beach Post, Jerich pled guilty in March to criminal mischief and reckless driving.

Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida has implemented a new list of rules to combat what he calls “uncooperative behaviour”.Following the launch of Final Fantasy 14’s new 5v5 player versus player (PvP) mode, Crystalline Conflict, Yoshida has reported an “unprecedented number of reports concerning uncooperative/lethargic or taunting behaviour during matches”.In a new blog post, he explained how “all PvP content, including Crystalline Conflict, is intended to be a battle/contest of skill between players. Participants must bring their best to the fight, and for this reason uncooperative or lethargic behaviour is prohibited.

Rules surrounding free universal testing will be changing from Friday, April 1 and will see a lot of people being forced to pay for lateral flow tests. It comes as Health Secretary Sajid Javid announced that Covid will be treated like any other respiratory infection such as the common cold or influenza.

The chief executive of the UK Health Security Agency, Dame Henny Harries, has warned Covid-19 infections are at "a very high level" but are not translation into hospital admission and deaths. She appeared on BBC Radio 4' Today program to warn of the increasing levels of infections of the virus all across the UK.

The Government's decision to reinstate parking fees for NHS staff has sparked a backlash. Health Secretary Sajid Javid issued a statement this week to say the goodwill gesture, introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic and funded by the Government, would end this month.

The government has issued a statement clarifying who will be able to get free Covid testing from April 1, Friday, when mass PCR and lateral flow testing is brought to an end. The free testing available to a small number of groups will be symptomatic - meaning that those taking tests must already be showing symptoms.
