As of next Monday, all remaining coronavirus restrictions were due to be lifted, in what had been dubbed "freedom day." But due to the rise of the Delta variant, and a risk of a 'surge' in hospilisations, the last stage of lockdown easing has been delayed until Monday, 19 July.

However, some restrictions which had still been in place, including on weddings and wakes, will be lifted as planned on June 21.
