One seat in each of the 19 wards in Tameside is being contested on Thursday, May 6 with 67 candidates standing across the borough.
Labour holds the vast majority of seats currently up for election, with two Conservative seats also on the table. In the last local elections in 2019, there was an upset as the traditional Labour stronghold of Ashton Waterloo was taken by Green candidate Lee Huntbach, who claimed the seat by 140 votes.
