He's joined by Nicholas Ralph, reprising his role as James Herriot, as they prepare to shoot the fifth and sixth series amidst the stunning Yorkshire landscape.
The upcoming series will also see Samuel West return as the enigmatic Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley as Skeldale House's steadfast matriarch, Mrs Hall, and Rachel Shenton, who brings Helen Herriot's charm to life.
James Anthony-Rose is also set to reprise his role as Richard Carmody. Patricia Hodge will once again grace our screens as the elegant Mrs Pumphrey, accompanied by her adored and overly pampered Pekingese, Tricki.
