The sad death of New Zealand rugby star Sean Wainui is being treated as a suspected suicide according to police officials. Sean, 25, tragically lost his life when he crashed his car into a tree at McLaren Falls Park in the Bay of Plenty on 18 October following a stellar career on the pitch.
Scant detail has been released about the crash but the coroner in the case, Louella Dunngas confirmed that the death of Sean Wainui is being treated as a suspected suicide according to Reuters.
The heartbreaking news comes as Sean’s widow, Paige, took to social media to pay touching tribute to her other half and shared a video of herself getting a tattoo on her hand to match Sean’s that wound up around her wedding finger.
