Alien: Isolation is a first-person horror game set in the universe of the Alien movie franchise. It celebrated its 10th anniversary on Sunday (October 6), and to celebrate, developer Creative Assembly has revealed it’s working on a sequel to the critically acclaimed title. In a tweet on October 7, Creative Assembly wrote, “On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear.

Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development.”Long-time fans of the game have wanted a sequel or another Creative Assembly-lead Alien game for some time now, so their calls have indeed been answered by the developer.Alien: Isolation features Amanda Ripley, daughter of film heroine Ellen Ripley, who is searching for her mother 15 years after the events of the first film.

Amanda is an engineer who must survive a xenomorph threat on the ruined Sevastopol space station. The game grew in popularity thanks to the AI developed to ensure the xenomorph followed players closer as they explored the station.

It would always pop up close enough to keep players on their toes, never relenting for a moment, but not being overbearing, either.
