Algeria have confirmed Riyad Mahrez in their squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations. Manchester City winger Mahrez is a key player for his country and was always expected to be included in their selection as they aim to retain the title they won in 2019.
However, there has only been recent confirmation that the tournament would go ahead as planned next month. The group stages get under way in host nation Cameroon on January 9, with Algeria kicking off their first match two days later.
Their third and final group stage match is on January 20, although they will be hoping to go much further in the competition; the final takes place four weeks later on February 6.
