A commemorative stone has been laid in a Lanarkshire town to pay tribute to the role NHS workers played during the COVID pandemic.

The mother of Dame Deborah James has paid a heartbreaking tribute to her daughter after she tragically lost her fight with bowel cancer aged 40. The BBC podcast star passed away on Tuesday Jun 28, after a devastating five year battle to beat the disease. Deborah’s death was confirmed by her family in an emotional but poignant statement on social media, where she had been documenting her journey throughout her fight.
