A number of witnesses have been giving evidence for the defence today at Alex Salmond's trial on alleged sexual assault charges in the High Court in Edinburgh.The former first minister is accused of 13 offences against nine women, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to.The defence called a company director as their first witness today and she was questioned by Gordon Jackson QC acting on behalf of Salmond.She said she first met Salmond 25 years ago when she worked as a researcher for the SNP.She said she’d attended dinners at Bute House while Salmond was first minister.She said her relationship with Salmond was “positive” and “respectful” and that they didn’t socialise as friends.The witness said she was at a Bute House dinner attended
