UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin hit out at the 'fake news' that would have seen Liverpool handed the Premier League title amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Premier League and other top-flight European football leagues have been told by UEFA that they want the current season finished by June 30.
The Premier League has suspended all games until April 4 as coronavirus sweeps through the UK, but it is not yet known whether clubs will be able to resume on that date, or whether it will be pushed back to later in the year.
It is a similar situation in leagues across Europe, as the powers that be decide on next steps to limit the spread of the deadly virus throughout the continent.
