Alec Baldwin says he’s just been “fired” from an acting job because of the controversy surrounding his role in the accidental shooting on the set of “Rust”, saying that the whole experience has “taken years off” his life.

Alec Baldwin stated that the “only time” he was “worried” about the consequences of the fatal “Rust” movie set shooting, was after former President Donald Trump weighed in on the tragedy. Implying that his physical safety was in danger, Baldwin claimed that Trump had “instructed people to commit acts of violence” on January 6, and now “he was pointing fingers at me.”CNN “New Day” aired Baldwin’s interview with CNN entertainment reporter Chloe Melas on Friday, where they discussed the fallout from the tragic shooting on the Hollywood set of the movie “Rust.”Baldwin maintained during his interview that he didn’t pull the trigger, telling Melas, “I never once said – never – that the gun went off in my hand automatically. I always said I pulled the hammer back, and I pulled it back as far as I could.

Alec Baldwin told CNN that he worried about his own safety after comments made by former President Donald Trump in the aftermath of the shooting on the set of Rust.

Alec Baldwin is kicking back while new discoveries are being made in the "Rust" shooting case. On Thursday, Baldwin was seen leaving lunch at a luxe clam bar in Amagansett, New York, one of the most expensive towns in the Hamptons.

Have you heard of that phrase, fanning the gun? So, if you pull the hammer back, and you don’t lock the hammer; if you pull the hammer back pretty far -- in old Western movies you’d see someone fan the hammer of the gun-- the hammer didn’t lock; you pulled it back to an extent where it would fire the bullet without you pulling the trigger, without you locking the hammer.»Baldwin said the principal safety officer on the set «declared that the gun was safe when he handed» him the gun.
