Alec Baldwin is asking for the latest Rust lawsuit to be tossed out. The 65-year-old actor is asking a judge to dismiss the lawsuit filed by the parents and sister of late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, saying they have “no viable cause of action.” Keep reading to find out more… In new court documents, Alec alleges that Olga Solovey, Anatolii Androsovych and Svetlana Zemko filed the lawsuit to “obtain compensation” from the shooting death of the cinematographer on a movie set in 2021. “The loss of a daughter and sister is undoubtedly painful in any circumstance.

Yet Plaintiffs—who had been distanced from Halyna physically, financially, and emotionally for years before her death—have no viable cause of action against Defendants.

This action is especially misguided,” the filing reads, via Today. Alec was charged with involuntary manslaughter after the incident, and he denies any wrongdoing.

He also reached a settlement with the cinematographer’s husband and son last year. Alec Baldwin‘s lawyer dropped a surprising bombshell in March and the claim is being denied by the District Attorney’s office.
