Movie star Alec Baldwin has been indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter following the fatal shooting of crew member Halyna Hutchins in 2021.
Alec was charged in connection with the incident in January last year but the charges were dropped months later due to questions regarding the Colt .45 functionality.
The tragic incident happened on the set of western Rust when cinematographer Halyna, 42, was killed by a prop gun used by Alec during filming.
As reported in the Mirror, Alec claimed he never even pulled the trigger and the original FBI investigation found the Colt to be broken, bringing the investigation to a further standstill after Alec's claim.Upon this new found indictment, his attorneys, Lukas Nikas and Alex Spiro, said in a statement on Friday: “We look forward to our day in court."In October, prosecutors said they planned to work quickly to take the case to a grand jury, citing "additional facts” that they claim to have discovered.Special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis sent the gun for forensic testing and continued to compile evidence while the legal process was pit on a standstill.
